Ferrer’s duplicity
God save America if Hillary Clinton becomes US President and her idea of a good female leader turns out to be personified by Philippine government peace panel chairperson Miriam Coronel-Ferrer or by Presidential Peace Process Adviser Teresita Deles.
If only to gain media mileage, it may not be beyond Clinton to invent a “woman empowerment” award to hand to Ferrer and Deles like pulling a rabbit from a hat. Fact is, Clinton has already put Ferrer and Deles on an undeserved pedestal in the self-serving report of her foundation entitled No Ceilings.
Clinton
feted Ferrer as “the first woman ever to serve as a chief negotiator for a
peace agreement” as if the UP professor should be judged based on the
appointment per se and not on the horrible “bitter fruit” of her and Deles’ treacherous liaisons with the MILF.
Clinton
should be asked, but at what cost to us Filipinos would this “peace” being
naively peddled by Ferrer under the baton and orchestration of Iqbal alias
Mohammed or alias Datucan Abbas come?
The
Bangsamoro entity which Ferrer and Iqbal want Congress to create and the people
to ratify in a referendum would never bring peace in Mindanao for it is
tailor-made to be exploited by the MILF to the exclusion of all other
stakeholders in Muslim Mindanao.
In the
Bangsamoro, the MILF wants a sub-state that would serve as their platform to
launch a final push for independence from the Philippines, aided no doubt
by Malaysia with whom Iqbal and other MILF leaders pledge allegiance to.
Ferrer
is a veritable creation of Iqbal. She is the puppet whose strings are being
pulled by the MILF. Ask yourselves, would Ferrer not be
in the lofty position for which Clinton heaped praises on her if not for Iqbal
saying that the MILF amenable to talking peace opposite a woman?
The moro-moro was for Iqbal and a Malaysian prince who overlooked the flawed peace talks to initially express reservations against a woman chair of a GRP peace process, only to approve of her after much hele-hele bago quiere. –end-
